Elaine Marshall, US Senate
David Price, US House of Representatives
And to keep the NC General Assembly blue.
A few hours of your time can make the difference for many years of North Carolina’s future. We’re knocking on the doors of Democratic first-time & intermittent voters to ask them to commit to vote in 2010.
Person-to-Person and Voter-to-Voter. It’s easy. It’s fun. And it’s powerful. All you need to do is show up.
We’ll give you everything you need and send you out with a partner who’s done it before.
Come join Congressman Price,
who will be canvassing and welcoming canvassers back to celebrate our grass roots power at
Fullsteam Brewery, a great small business thanking volunteers with
20-oz Worker’s Compensation beers for $3 & Music!
Why should you join your fellow Democrats and canvass?
Because it works. It is the single most effective way to bring new voters back to the polls. We have the voters. To win, we just need them to vote.
Because it matters. The 2010 General Assembly will redistrict North Carolina for the next 10 years. Let’s not let representatives backed by special interest groups make those decisions.
Because it’s rewarding. You’ll meet the neatest people and get a lot of smiles. People like to hear that they matter. Bring them the message.
Because bullies shouldn’t win. GOP/Tea Party pundits declare we’ve given up, gone home, tail between our legs. They have no idea how tough we are. And we all know bullies can’t take a hit. Let’s punch back hard.
Because there’s great beer when you’re finished. Great movements deserve great beer. (Thanks Fullsteam!)
Do you want to keep NC and the country moving forward?
Do you want to see health care access expand to all Americans? Or comprehensive and fair immigration reform? A meaningful sustainable energy policy? A serious attempt to address climate change? How about social security? Do you want to keep social security as a public benefit for all Americans?
Forget about any of these pro American programs and policies if the Republicans take control of Congress next year!
We need to elect Elaine Marshall to be our next Senator.
We need to keep David Price as our Congressman.
We need to keep the NC General Assembly Blue so they control redistricting.
We can’t achieve any of these critical needs without your help. One Stop Early Voting begins in just three weeks. Please call the NC Coordinated Campaign office at 919-381-5456 or come by 400 W. Main St. to sign up for a volunteer shift. Winning starts with you!

With enormous gratitude to our outstanding media team of videographers and audio/video specialists for their technical expertise and equipments, without which this forum would not be shared with the wider audience of attendees and non-attendees.

Durham for Obama held a Democratic Senatorial Candidate Forum on March 15th at St. Joseph’s AME Church in Durham. Cal Cunningham, Ken Lewis, Elaine Marshall, and Marcus Williams answered questioned that had been generated by the Durham community. Approximately 300 people were in attendance. After the event, Durham residents voted in Durham for Obama’s Endorsement Proceedings. Here are the results of the voting:
Ken Lewis 58%
Elaine Marshall 32%
Cal Cunningham 8%
Marcus Williams 2%
Questions were solicited from the community, and a number of them were selected and sent to the Democratic Senatorial candidates. The candidates were asked to provide written responses to 10 questions, and therefore, not all community-submitted questions were selected to be addressed. However, we did our best to include and combine/paraphrase as much of the questions as possible. Please read the candidates’ responses here.
Also, please come out to meet and listen to the candidates answer additional questions at Durham for Obama’s Senatorial Candidates’ Forum on March 15th at St. Joseph’s AME Church, starting at 6:30pm sharp. Details here. Please RSVP at http://my.barackobama.com/page/event/detail/gp88bg
